Valentines Build Part 3
The pictures below show some of the final steps, the first picture below shows the main brace of the piece across the back, this is unique because the other set of prongs parallells this part and support is provided by a tension between the two.
Where the prongs wrap around to the front of the stone, those coiled angle pieces also provide a great deal of support to prevent movement of the prongs that hold the stone on the sides.
This was the key I decided to make to hang under the stone, It was made from sterling silver round wire and measures just under an inch and a half long.
This photo shows where the key is going, now I only have to figure out how to tie it in and keep it neat, Took almost 4 attempts before I settled that matter.
Still debating.......
I made the extra V-shape piece to tie into the frame so I had a crossmember to tie into, It made for a nice look.
This concludes part 3 and I may decide to add to it, only because there is alot of space in that build to add more. So do I really want to keep it as a pendant or mount it to a base?
