Here's the location and it is early in the morning prior to opening. This is a nice location and years ago large stores like Shoppers Fare, K-mart, Big Lots, used to occupy this building. All of the business' did pretty well and used this location to establish themselves and have moved on to larger buildings. It is in a high traffic area and many people who visit the secretary of state to get their drivers licenses and vehicles registered stop in.
Subway sandwich shop is in the strip mall that is just to the right along with a real estate office and a couple of tax preparation business' are in here as well. Huntington bank is behind me and to the left. I'll have more photos soon.
This would be a great test location and the opal should be kept to about a value no greater than $150 per piece. I would love to see "Beautiful Australian Opals Here" displayed on one of the front windows.Pictures of the Display cases will be available later today to show the layout.
Saturday mornings/afternoons are a primetime for people visiting this store, during the week they have a moderate amount of people. Items and areas of interest to give you a good idea of this place, You have coin dealers, craftmakers, jewelry makers, clothing embroidery, used furniture, glass art to name a few and the best of all Opals from Me and my friends.
So if you would like to have your product in a retail environment with very little cost, (a stone or two per year is all I charge) this would be perfect. Normally retail space goes from about $3.50 per square foot up to $5.75 if you lease a building. But since I am leasing just two shelves in a showcase with lots of room for $20 per month. Don't forget to price accordingly, remember the mall takes 15% of purchases, don't forget to include that in your pricing. You may also include business cards to go with your product and OA gets some great publicity for the website, promotions like the jewelry contest, the monthly pendant giveaway....Need I say more? I will notify the local rock and gem club of this new attraction. Specimens, Rough, Inlay material, Loose stones, Earrings, Pendants, Carvings are all great products to have at this location. People need to see our beautiful opals and this is one way to Git"r"done. Items will be in a locked case under glass and only myself and the sales associates will have access.
